About Jon Argenziano

About your Attorney

For over 20 years, I’ve worked with people with disabilities helping them to obtain and retain income and health insurance benefits, SSDI and SSI in particular.  I am an attorney licensed to practice before the Social Security Administration and my practice encompasses these cases exclusively.  Since coming to California from Boston in 2006, I’ve worked exclusively in Social Security law, representing over 3000 individuals at administrative hearings before Social Security judges.   I spent my last 5 years in Boston as Director of the JRI Health Law Institute, a public interest law firm that served People Living with HIV (PLHIV), the LGBTQ community and homeless youth all over Massachusetts.  Prior to JRI I was part of the staff of the Massachusetts HIV Drug Assistance Program (HDAP), where I began the Comprehensive Health Insurance Initiative (CHII), a program designed to purchase health insurance for PLHIV.  And before HDAP I spent four years at AIDS Action Committtee of Massachusetts, first as a Financial and Legal Advisor and later as Government Relations Specialist in the health policy department.  I began my legal career in public interest law at Rhode Island Legal Services, handling benefits and landlord-tenant matters.

I attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Law where I obtained my Juris Doctor. During law school I spent a semester studying in London, interning at Interights, an internationally recognized Human Rights Advocacy Group.  Additionally, I spent the summer after my second year working with ABLE (Advocates for Basic Legal Equality), providing legal assistance to migrant farmworkers in northwestern Ohio.

I earned my undergraduate degree in International Relations with a concentration in Latin American Studies at the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service.  I spent  my junior year in Lima, Peru where I attended classes at la Universidad de Lima and Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.  My experience in Latin America began when I spent my high school years in Guadalajara, Jalisco, México and graduated from the American School of Guadalajara.

I’m excited to serve the community from my new office in Long Beach.
